No rest for the wicked or to rest on our laurels… time to work on a extra special install! And we’re on a very short time frame so start your engines… we’re yarn storming Valour Place for Armistice Day! What is Valour Place, you ask…
Valour Place, the first of it’s kind in Canada,is a temporary home away from home for all Canadian Forces members, Families of the Fallen, Veterans and RCMP along with their families who require medical treatment in Edmonton. Through Valour Place, they have the means to face the challenges of rehabilitation in a warm, welcoming and supportive environment. Hope away from home.
This is how you can help… we need poppies. Not just a dozen or two but HUNDREDS of red, four petal poppies with black centres of all sizes, knit or crochet in washable yarns. The install will occur before Armistice Day, November 11.
So gather your friends, share the word… we need to receive your poppies no later than October25. Please be sure to mark on the package (shipping crate?) Valour Poppy Project and how many. They can either be delivered to the usual knit groups in Edmonton area or to:
